Plans for a controversial housing development that could more than double the size of a parish have been submitted five years early.
Land off Forest Road, Rivenhall, has been earmarked for 328 homes - ten per cent more houses than the 300 originally planned.
Bellway Homes, based in Chelmsford, plan to build the estate, including affordable housing, on the 16.24 hectares of fields originally allocated in the Local Development Framework for development in five years time.
However since Braintree District Council scrapped the document, a request has been made to start the process early.
