A former hospital is likely to be given the green light to be demolished to make way for 29 new homes.
Developer Croudace Homes wants to knock down the William Julien Courtauld Hospital (WJC), in London Road, Braintree.
Planning officers have recommended an application to build 29 houses, which includes affordable housing, on the site is approved.
Councillors are due to vote on the proposal at a meeting tonight.
