A family have bid a heartfelt farewell as they prepare to leave their award-winning pub after failing to meet a brewery’s demands.
Steve Haward, wife Christine and children Henry, Chaz and Lindsay, turned the Wagon in Horses into one of the most popular pubs in the Braintree area, winning numerous awards as well as a listing in the revered Good Beer Guide, making their departure all the more unexpected for customers.
A Greene King spokesman said: “Despite our best efforts to help Mr Haward and his family, we are disappointed that their business venture has ended in this way."
