The award-winning Amateur Dramatic Youth Society is mad about its latest production.

The junior section of the Witham Operatic Workshop will be presenting Our House - the Madness Musical later this month.

Our House combines a witty and brilliantly-crafted romantic tale with the energetic and often madcap songs of Madness.

The story follows Camden lad Joe Casey who, on the night of his 16th birthday, makes a decision that will change his life.

Our House follows the two paths that Joe’s life could take after that fateful night; one path means a criminal record and social exclusion, while the other will lose him the girl that he loves.

Starring songs such as It Must be Love and Baggy Trousers, the show’s mix of romance and comedy is bound to thrill its audiences.

Renown for their outstanding productions, the Witham based theatre group holds many awards to their name including Best Youth Group Production from the National Operatic Dramatic Association.

The show itself also features the North Essex Theatre Guild Award winner Ben Huish, playing the leading role of Joe Casey.

The production’s creative team includes the talents of Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts graduate Amy Triggs as the director, Kingston University trained Louise Lachance as the choreographer and past Goldsmith University Masters student Emma Firth as the musical director.

‘Our House’ will be performed at Witham Public Hall between February 16 and 21 with evening performances at 7.30pm and a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
