Notice of Making of an Order Highways Act 1980 - Sections 119 and 118 Essex County Council Public Path Orders Footpaths 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 33 and 34 Toppesfield in the District of Braintree

The above Orders made on 22nd January, 2018 under sections 119 and 118 of the Highways Act 1980, will divert Footpaths 23, 24, 25, 26, 33 & 34 Toppesfield and extinguish Footpath 22 as not required for public use. A part length of Footpath 23 Toppesfield commencing north of the sewerage works from grid reference 57406,23659 and proceeding in a generally north easterly direction across the field then along the field boundary, then in a northerly direction across the field for a distance of approximately 334 metres to grid reference 57421,23686 where it terminates at the Great Yeldham Road, will be diverted to a new alternative route commencing from the same above point and proceeding in a generally northerly direction on the eastern side of the field boundary then in an easterly direction parallel with the Great Yeldam Road for a total distance of approximately 348 metres to grid reference 57412,23688 where it connects to the Great Yeldham Road 90 metres further west than the current path. A part length of Footpath 24 Toppesfield commencing from grid reference 57410,23711 and proceeding in an east north easterly direction then in a south south easterly direction across the field for a distance of approximately 326 metres to grid reference 57426,23689 where it connects to the highway which is the Great Yeldham Road will be diverted to a new alternative route commencing from the same above point and proceeding in a generally southerly direction on the western side of the field boundary for a distance of approximately 215 metres to grid reference 57411,23689 where it connects to the highway which is the Great Yeldham Road, 150 metres further to the west than the current path.

A part length of Footpath 25 Toppesfield commencing from a point to the east of no. 27 Camoise Close at grid reference 57401,23733 and running in an easterly direction across the field for a distance of 186 metres to grid reference 57420,23731 will be diverted to a new alternative route commencing from the same above point and running in an east north easterly direction along the field perimeter for a distance of 134 metres to grid reference 57414,23737 and then continuing around the field perimeter in a south easterly direction for a distance of 84 metres to the same above point where it continues unaffected. A part length of Footpath 26 Toppesfield commencing from grid reference 57446,23696 at its junction with Great Yeldham Road and proceeding in a generally southerly direction initially through the fields to the east of Olivers Farm then through the garden to the east of the residence at Olivers Farm and finally across the field to the south of Olivers for a distance of approximately 445 metres to grid reference 57451,23653 where it connects to an existing track will be diverted to a new alternative route commencing from grid reference 57438,23692 at its junction with Great Yeldham Road approximately 84 metres further south west than the current path and proceeding in a generally south south easterly direction along the existing track which runs to the west of Olivers Farm for a distance of approximately 447 metres to the same above point at the track where it continues unaffected. A part length of Footpath 33 Toppesfield commencing from where it commences from Toppesfield Road at grid reference 57380,23639 and proceeding in a generally east north easterly direction across the field and then in a generally south easterly direction across the field for a distance of 404 metres to grid reference 57406,23617 and running across the field in a south westerly then southerly direction for a further distance of 124 metres to grid reference 57404,23606 where it connects to the Toppesfield Road, will be diverted to a new alternative route commencing from grid reference 57382,23612 and proceeding in an east north easterly and then a generally easterly direction following the north side of the field boundary for a distance of 246 metres and then continuing in a generally easterly direction along the same field boundary for a further distance of 177 metres to where it connects to Footpath 34 Toppesfield.

A part length of Footpath 34 Toppesfield commencing from grid reference 57424,23619 and running in a generally north westerly direction across the field for a distance of 333 metres to grid reference 57394,23633 where it connects to Footpath 33 Toppesfield will be diverted to a new alternative route commencing from the same above point and running in a north north westerly direction in a straight line across the field for a distance of approximately 392 metres to grid reference 57388,23652 where it connects to the footbridge crossing the river

A part length of Footpath 22 Toppesfield commencing from where it connects to the unnamed highway east of the property known as Sainsbury Cottages at grid reference 57380,23639 and running in a north easterly direction across the field for a distance of approximately 160 metres to grid reference 57388,23652 where it meets the river at the footbridge will be extinguished as not needed for public use. In exchange the landowners have agreed to create two new footpaths under Section 25 of the Highways Act 1980. A new path will connect footpath 42 to footpath 27 creating a north south link and a new path will connect the highway east of Froyz Hall to Footpath 33 creating an east west link. A copy of the Orders and the Order maps have been placed in and may be seen free of charge at Braintree District Council Offices, Causeway House, Braintree CM7 9HB and at the Chelmsford Public Library, Market Road CM1 1QH during normal working hours. Copies are available on request from the Chelmsford Library at a charge. Any representations about or objections to an Order may be sent in writing to Laurence Page Definitive Map Service, Essex County Council, County Hall, A2 Seax House, Market Road, Chelmsford CM1 1QH no later than 1st March, 2018 and should state the grounds on which they are made. Please include your email address with your comment to ensure a prompt reply. If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, Essex County Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation, any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent together with the Order. Any such representation or objections will be taken into account by the Council with the result that they may be made available to the public under the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985. (Birdbrook Road, Birdbrook) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2018

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Birdbrook Road, Birdbrook in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Four Ash Hill to its junction with Moat Road, a distance of approximately 569m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd February 2018 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC005MU1WSEP00IBQ1J4JG28 - BT). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on www.roadworks.org. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while spine cabling works are undertaken by BT. An alternative route is available via Birdbrook Road, Station Road, Baythorne End, Ridgewell Road, Four Ash Hill, The Causeway and vice versa. The Order will come into effect on 9th February 2018 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Park Lane, Earls Colne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2018

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Park Lane, Earls Colne in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 50m east of its junction with Foundry Lane for a distance of approximately 25m in a easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th February 2018 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD030000010480328 - Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on www. roadworks.org. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via Park Lane, Church Hill, High Street, Massingham Drive, Foundry Lane and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 9th February 2018 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
