Active Travel Essex - Braintree Proposed Construction of Cycle Lanes, Cycle Tracks, Shared Use Footway, Zebra Crossing & Parallel Crossing on Panfield Lane, Braintree
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council proposes to install On-Carriageway Cycle Lanes as defined in the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 on the following lengths of road, Braintree:

1 Panfield Lane
i. From a point in line with the property North eastbound (mandatory) boundaries of numbers 78/80 Panfield Lane, southeast for approximately 4 metres.
ii. From a point approximately 14 metres southeast from its junction with the Panfield Lane/Coldnailhurst Avenue Roundabout, southeast for approximately 46 metres.
iii. The width of the cycle lane is approximately 2 metres maximum.

2 Panfield Lane (mandatory)
i. From a point approximately 3 metres southeast from the eastern junction with the Panfield Lane/Porters Field Roundabout, southeast for approximately 59 metres.
ii. The width of the cycle lane is approximately 1.2 metres.
North eastbound

3 Panfield Lane/ Porters Field Roundabout (advisory)
i. From the eastern junction with Porters Field, in a westerly then northerly direction for a total distance of approximately 58 metres.
ii.The width of the cycle lane is approximately 2 meters
Westwards then northwards (following trajectory of the roundabout)

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council proposes to alter the existing footways and verges to construct 'Cycle Tracks' on the following lengths of road in the District of Braintree; under highway improvement powers given by section 65 and 66 of the Highways Act 1980 and all other enabling powers:

that under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that Essex County Council proposes to establish the following pedestrian crossings, Braintree:

New Zebra Crossing:
Road Description

Panfield Lane
The centre line of the crossing will be located approximately 25 metres southeast from the eastern junction with the Panfield Lane/Porters Field Roundabout.

The width between the crossing give way lines will be approximately 6 metres. Zig zags associated with above the Zebra Crossing are proposed to be installed on both sides of the carriageway, either side of the crossing give way lines for approximately 17 metres in each direction.

Upgrade of Existing Zebra Crossing to Parallel Crossing with cyclist facility:
Road Description

Panfield Lane
The centre line of the crossing will be located approximately 22 metres northeast from the northern junction with the Panfield Lane/Porters Field Roundabout.

The total width between the crossing give way lines will be approximately 7 metres, including a 1.5-metre-wide dedicated cycle crossing. Zig zags associated with above the Zebra Crossing are proposed to be installed on both sides of the carriageway, either side of the crossing give way lines for approximately 17.5 metres in each direction.

(Burtons Green Road, Greenstead Green) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2022

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Burtons Green Road, Greenstead Green in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 110m south east of its junction with Grange Hill for a distance of approximately 110m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th June 2022 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03160346251 - Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while stop tap replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water
An alternative route is available via Church Road, Crocklands, Crocklands Corner and vice versa with access only into Burton's Green Road and Parley Beams Road. The Order will come into effect on 9th June 2022 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier

(Little London Hill, Finchingfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2022

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Little London Hill, Finchingfield in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Howe Street for a distance of approximately 1880m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 27th June 2022 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2313155 - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council. An alternative route is available via Howe Street, Duck End, The Causeway, The Green, Brent Hall Road, Sampford Road, Hawkins Hill, Finchingfield Road, Hall Road, Hill Road, High Street, Moor End Road, Walden Road, Anso Road, Bumpstead Road, Hempstead Road, Water Lane, North Street, Haverhill Road, Chapel Street, Old Hall Road, Eggshell Lane, Cornish Hall End and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 9th June 2022 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier

(Station Road, Birdbrook) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2022

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Station Road, Birdbrook in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Birdbrook Road for a distance of approximately 440m in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 27th June 2022 for 19 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411SAWCTG984T001 - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new duct works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Baythorne End, Ridgewell Road, Four Ash Hill, The Causeway, Birdbrook Road and vice versa with access only into Station Road.
The Order will come into effect on 9th June 2022 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier

(Terling Hall Road, Terling) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2022

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Terling Hall Road, Terling in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Flacks Green to its junction with Rolls Farm Lane a distance of approximately 805m.

2. To temporarily close that length of Terling Hall Road, Terling in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Rolls Farm Lane for a distance of approximately 405m in a south easterly direction.

The closures are scheduled to commence on 30th June 2022 for 8 days, or where stated on a valid permit (KA160LT001-E-TERLING - Gigaclear Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while fibre optic broadband installation works are undertaken by Gigaclear Ltd. An alternative route is available via Rolls Farm Lane, Waltham Road, Oakfield Lane, Gambles Green, Flacks Green, Church Road (closure 1) and vice versa or Terling Hall Road, London Road, The Street, Station Road, Terling Road, Hatfield Road, New Road, The Street, Church Road and vice versa (closure 2).
The Order will come into effect on 9th June 2022 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier

(Various Roads, Braintree) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of 30mph Speed Limit), (Temporary Introduction of Clearway) (Streetworks No.2) Order 2022

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the District of Braintree, as detailed in the Schedule.

2. To temporarily introduce a 30mph speed limit in those lengths of roads as detailed in the Schedule.

3. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on those lengths of roads as specified in the schedule for the duration of the restrictions in order to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

4. "The Essex County Council (Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works are scheduled to commence on 9th June 2022, as stated on a valid permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road. The restrictions are required for the safety of the public and workforce while superfast broadband installation works are undertaken by Gigaclear
The Order will come into effect on 9th June 2022 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bailey Bridge Road, Braintree in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Lancaster Way to its junction with Boleyns Avenue a distance of approximately 925m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th June 2022 for 16 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2329178 -Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Lancaster Way, Coldnailhurst Avenue, Boleyns Avenue and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 26th May 2022 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(East Street, Braintree) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2022

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of East Street, Braintree in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 90m north of its junction with Manor Street for a distance of approximately 30m in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th June 2022 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30039789599 - UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Coggeshall Road, Albert Road, Manor Street and vice versa (with access only on East Street).
The Order came into effect on 26th May 2022 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Ranks Green Road, Fairstead) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2022

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Ranks Green Road, Fairstead in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 135m south west of its junction with Fairstead Road for a distance of approximately 200m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 14th June 2022 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC118HVWCMJKJ4T - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Ranks Green Road, Fairstead Road, Fairstead Hall Road, Braintree Road, Fuller Street, Fairstead Lodge Road and vice versa. The Order came into effect on 26th May 2022 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
