SUSPENSION DUE TO THE COVID19 PANDEMIC
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14(1)
The Council is satisfied that these restrictions are required owing to the danger to the public of gathering or promenading in groups on the affected roads or
public open spaces following the advice of the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in respect of social distancing during the COVID19 (coronavirus) emergency.. Notice is hereby given that the Southend-on-Sea Borough Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the RoadTrafficRegulationAct1984.

The Effect of the order will be to prohibit any vehicle from;-
1 Exiting Pleasant Road at its junction with Marine Parade
2 Entering or exiting Hartington Road at its junction with
Marine Parade
3 Exiting Shorefield Road at its junction with Western Esplanade
4 Suspension of one-way traffic on Pleasant Road
5 Suspension of one-way traffic on Hartington Road
6 Suspension of one-way traffic on Lucy Road
7 Suspension of one-way traffic on Herbert Grove This order willalso;-
8.Suspend resident permit parking on The Leas from its junction
with Western Esplanade and Crowstone Avenue The closure is scheduled to commence on 5th June 2020 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting The alternative route will be via; - For exit closure of Shorefield
Road
(Heading Westbound) Station Road, Crowstone Avenue, Frist Avenue & Chalkwell Avenue
(Heading Eastbound) Station Road, Westcliff Avenue, Cambridge Road, Capel Terrace, Alexandra Street, Heygate Avenue, Church Road, Chancellor Road, Queensway, Southchurch Avenue The Order will come into effect on 5th June 2020 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier The closure & suspension is required for the safety of the public due to the COVID19 pandemic.
Access for emergency vehicles, residents and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure. The prohibitions or restrictions will apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the TRAFFIC SIGNS REGULATIONS AND GENERAL DIRECTIONS 2016

Any veh icle wa it ing in contravent ion of any restrict ion/proh ib ition imposed by this Notice may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice and removed under the provisions of the Traffic Management Act 2004.
