Two boys have been arrested after a number of attacks where the victims were pushed into a canal
Detectives investigating a series of attacks in which victims were pushed into a canal have charged two boys with assault.
West Midlands Police said the teenagers, aged 14 and 15, would appear at Wolverhampton Youth Court on January 3 to answer the charges against them.
The 15-year-old has been charged with theft, a public order offence and five counts of assault, including offences alleged to have been committed against men aged 71 and 72.
A police spokesman said the younger boy has been charged with assaulting men aged 40 and 61.
Officers launched an inquiry into the attacks in September after being contacted by several victims, who suffered injuries ranging from cracked ribs to a shattered kneecap.
A total of six people are thought to have been pushed into the water during the incidents in the Wolverhampton area.
