Last confirmed as Witham boss

Tony Last has been confirmed as Witham Town's new first-team manager.

Last, who is also the club's chairman, has been in caretaker charge of the Ryman League division one north outfit since Ken O'Donnell quit the role in January.

And after helping ensure their status in the division for another season, Last has been appointed as Town's full-time boss.

He will be assisted by Paul Daley, who has worked alongside Last since O'Donnell left the Spicer McColl Stadium, Spa Road earlier this year.

Daley will also be the club's Academy coach, giving guidance five days a week to the 24 students affiliated to the club through Braintree College.

Jack Pridmore will work alongside Last and Daley as first-team coach, while Adam Flint has been named as reserve-team boss.

It will the 27-year-old's first managerial job, after his playing days were cut short prematurely following a cruciate ligament injury.

Last said: "We had four very good applicants but Adam was very enthusiastic and in the end it was a unanimous decision to appoint him.

"It's an exciting appointment and he has a great future in front of him."

Last is confident all of his squad members will return next season and is also looking to bring in new faces.
