Harper claims second race win
A small number of Witham runners lined up at the start of the Bocking May Day 5 on a warm and sunny Bank Holiday Monday morning.
It was a special day all round as Kev Harper notched up his second race win and juniors Matthew Faires and Rachel Faires made their debut at the five-mile distance.
Harper has been training hard and stormed across the Bocking finish line in a fantastic time of 29 minutes 47 seconds.
Junior runner Matthew Faires was the second Witham runner home in 41m 51s, almost a minute in front of Dave Payne, who decided to enjoy a run in the spring sunshine.
Rachel Faires, the only female Witham participant, finished her first five-mile race in 46m 45s.
All of Witham Running Club's runners enjoyed their race and turned in brilliant performances.
