Braintree scoop winter league title
Braintree Lawn Tennis Club under-18 mixed team are celebrating winning the Halstead and District Winter League.
The team of Louise Ball, Lydia Seleska, Jade Bond, Oliver Monro, Lloyd Edwards and Alec Rose won six, drew one and lost only one match.
They finished the season with a one-point lead in the league table.
This was the first winter season that there had been an under-18 age, as the league was split into two age groups, under-14 and under-18 last April.
The 2008 summer season has started well for the team with wins over Wickham Bishops and Maldon.
It is hoped that this good start continues throughout the forthcoming season.
