Must-win game for Iron
Braintree Town know they have to beat Dorchester Town tonight if they are to keep their slim hopes of promotion alive.
But they will also be reliant on Welling doing them a favour when they host play-off rivals Bishop's Stortford.
The Iron lie 11th in the Blue Square table on 63 points with two games to go, four points adrift of the play-off places.
So victory at The Avenue this evening is essential if they are to prolong their campaign for another game.
Manager Lee Patterson said: "We need a win away from home tonight in order to get to 66 points and Welling to take something from their game with Bishop's Stortford.
"We're relying on other teams now and we're looking at all the different permutations.
"It's a fine line and I was amazed by some of the other results on Saturday.
"It couldn't have really gone any better for us but unfortunately we conceded a late goal against Thurrock and dropped two important points." Dorchester are already planning for life outside of Blue Square South, having been relegated.
Magpies' Director of Football Shaun Brooks is currently in charge of playing matters.
But despite the Dorset club's relegation, he is unlikely to make sweeping changes to his side tonight.
"We will go to Dorchester tonight and give it our best shot," said Patterson.
"The pressure is off them now but it's certainly not going to be an easy game for us.
"We don't want to go to Dorchester and mess up and then see the other teams around us lose."
Strike pair James Baker (ankle) and Leon Archer (foot) will both miss the trip but Eugene Ofori is available after returning from his loan at Chesham United.
