GARY Spurrier produced some fine golf to win the Cameron Cup Order of Merit at Braintree Golf Club.

Playing off six, he went round in one over par for a net 65, three better than the rest of the 100-plus field.

There was a three-way countback on 68 for second spot with Jonathan Earl (4) securing second place ahead of Michael Jackson (13) and Andrew Marsay (13).

William Farrow, playing off 28, won a closely fought Junior Monthly Stableford with 45 points, finishing two clear of Kyron Moon (10) with Justin Phillips (32) third on 42.

The men’s midweek stableford saw Matt Proctor compile 38 points off eight, two clear of plus-one man John Bradford with Phil Howard (10) third on 33.

Jenny Couzens, playing off 24, completed a fine victory in the ladies' Jubilee Trophy with 36 points while there was a countback for second on 35 with Julie Race (9) getting the verdict over Judith Pryke (11).

Carolyn Harris (22) was fourth with 33.

Plus-one man John Bradford continued his run of success by winning the May Bank Holiday Stableford with 36 points, finishing well clear of runner-up Eric Roast (17) with 28 and Derek Burrell (24) with 25.

The Bank Holiday Mixed Foursomes resulted in victory for club captain John O’Connor and Cyd Rodford with 35 points.

Vice-captain Graeme Brown and Liz Karn were second with 33, while John and Ann Snow were third on 30.
