WITHAM Town manager Adam Flint felt it was a deserved accolade as goalkeeper Bobby Mason was voted by the club's fans as the Supporters' Player of the Season.

The Witham shot-stopper was presented with his award at a ceremony after the team's final Bostik League division north match of the season that saw them beaten 2-0 by Tilbury.

And while that final result may have been a disappointment, Flint felt Mason's award was deserved after seeing him come in following the departure of Lewis Moore to Dagenham and Redbridge and contribute to the 14 clean sheets Witham had this year.

Flint said: "Bobby has been brilliant since he came in.

"We were in a real pickle when Lewis Moore had to go back to Dagenham, but Bobby came in and he deserves the award he has got.

"It is always good for a player when the supporters vote for you.

"If the fans love you, you know you've done pretty well and been consistent.

"He has been brilliant and has been excellent to work with."
