SPORTING 77 came from behind to win a thrilling Invitation Trophy final against Bocking Social Reserves in the Braintree and North Essex Sunday League.

Sporting 77 pressed early and took a 1-0 lead, but Bocking Social Reserves responded and led 2-1 at half-time, before going further ahead after the break.

However, it was then Sporting who fought back to 3-3 and with both sides looking for the winner, they claimed the silverware with a fourth strike to end 4-3 victors.

Bocking's goal scorers were Aaron Mangan, Nathan Clarke and Isaac Falk, while Sporting 77 won with two goals from Danny Raven and one apiece from Thom Scotting and Chris Cook.

In the premier division, Braintree Iron moved up from third to second with a 6-1 home win against Flitch United. Braintree Iron had doubles from Nick Stackhouse and Kieron Dodge as well as having Sam Jones and Jordan Miller on target, while Theo Manley netted Flitch's consolation.

Bocking Social beat Witham United Witham 1-0 thanks to a Harry Groves strike and Broomfield FC lost 5-1 to Western Arms, who had Sam Hollocks firing in a hat-trick and one each by Craig Butcher and Ross Debrick.

Division one saw Great Bradford go third with a 5-1 win against Notley FC.

The Bradfords scorers were Jack Gilgrist, Harry Mills, Brady Catterwell and Charlie Partridge and there was also an own goal, while Notley had Joe Frisby on target.

Dunmow Rhodes played a division two double-header against Witham Phoenix, with Rhodes winning both games 3-0 and 4-0 to go into second place.

Charlie Gooch scored in the 3-0 win with two from Adam Griggs and a Sam Duberry double was added to another by Gooch and one from Jake Sutton in the 4-0 victory.

Joe Jackson scored for Witham Swan as they drew 1-1 with TK Eagles, who had Bill Snook on target.

In the Neil Horrocks Memorial Invitation Plate, Manor Works hosted Panfield Bell and won 1-0 with a goal from Garry Hart.
