AYTHORPE Roding got their season under way with a 107-run win in a friendly against Epping.
Home skipper Sam Gravatt won the toss and a decision to bat first was rewarded by Paul Gravatt hitting 57 and Shaun Hopkinson 54.
Graham Milbank also hit a half-century as Aythorpe reached 277 for seven in 40 overs.
The Roding bowlers were then in decent form ,with Sam Gravatt taking three wickets and Milbank two as Epping reached 170 in their reply.
Aythorpe Roding have another friendly on Saturday when they entertain Old Chelmsfordians (1pm start).
