BRAINTREE Legends were the emphatic winners of the Braintree and North Essex Sunday League's Division Two Cup final as they hammered Witham Phoenix 10-0.

Legends took the lead in the third minute and never looked back as they doubled their lead in the sixth minute and scored twice more for a 4-0 lead at half time, before adding a further six goals after the break.

Jon Archer was named as man-of-the-match and scored twice for the Legends, with Philip Smith and Aaron Boyd also scoring braces, while Ben McGlashan, Aaron Chinnery, Simon Bartlett and Gary Harbert added one apiece.

In division two action, Great Bradfords Reserves hosted Panfield Bell in a double header and both games end in draws. The first match ended 1-1 and the second 2-2 with the results taking Panfield into second place.

Great Bradfords' scorers were Keith Jones, Mike Kayley and Janes Shearer, while Ben Parker hit all three for the Bell

In the premier division, Nags Head Celtic went top thanks to a 5-0 win at Tiptree Elite as Rory Bone netted a hat-trick and Charlie Palmer and Sean Radley were also on target.

Dropping off the top spot were CFC Shalford, who fell to a 4-1 defeat at fourth-placed Flitch United, who had Nigel Ololade, Josh Jewson, Theo Manley and Luke Brandum scoring.

Western Arms were beaten 3-2 as a Tyler Kemp brace and one from Harry Groves gave the points to Bocking Social and it was also a 3-2 away win as Braintree Iron triumphed at Witham United.

In division one, a 10-4 win for Great Notley at Sporting 77 guaranteed the leaders at least second place this season.

Sporting had Thom Scotting scoring a treble and Adam Ryan one, but they were eclipsed by Liam Humphries' hat-trick for Notley along with two for Sam Edwards and one each for Ben Hockley, James Watson, Charlie Griffin, Billy Kinkaid and Ross Layton.

Elsewhere, second-placed Great Bardfield beat Great Bradfords, who were third, 4-1 and Tiptree Jobserve won 5-0 at Bocking Social Reserves to move into the top three after braces from James Scarlett and Josh Robertson and on from Carl Spratt.

The Neil Horrocks Memorial Invitation Plate saw Notley win 3-2 against Witham Swan thanks to strikes by Sam Love and Jason Thompson and an own goal.

Swan's scorers were Jamie Forsyth and Dan Laws.
