THERE were mixed fortunes for Thurlow Nunn League neighbours STANWAY ROVERS and BRANTHAM ATHLETIC in their League Challenge Cup semi-finals.

Kem Izzet's Stanway bowed out 2-0 at Thetford Town.

After a goalless first period, they conceded twice after the break.

However, it was a much happier evening for Brantham, who sealed their place in the final after a 3-1 success at Wroxham.

All the goals came in the first half.

Elliott Johnson put the Imps ahead and although Wroxham levelled, joint-boss Michael Brothers and Ethan Abrahams netted to book Brantham's place in the final at Diss Town on Monday, May 7.

Title-chasing COGGESHALL TOWN were in Thurlow Nunn League premier division action and enjoyed a 4-1 victory at home to Ely City.

Ross Wall was their hat-trick hero, with Nnamdi Nwachuku also on target for the Seedgrowers.

Coggeshall are second in the table, with 82 points from their 34 games.

They are five points behind leaders Felixstowe and Walton but with three games in hand on the Suffolk Seasiders.

In division one, Lewis Cunliffe's first-half penalty helped HALSTEAD TOWN to a 1-0 success at home to HOLLAND FC.

LITTLE OAKLEY conceded twice at the start of the second half and went down 2-0 at home to leaders Woodbridge Town.

WIVENHOE TOWN and FC CLACTON are set to meet in the Tolleshunt D'Arcy Memorial Cup semi-final at the GMP Plant Hire Stadium tonight.

BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT await the winners.
