MIKE Hyham's win in the final game of the night ensured Notley Sports secured an overall victory in their match at Wethersfield Club in division one of the Braintree Open Darts League.

Notley Sports had the early advantage with a win in the ladies followed by a 2-1 win in the pairs, before Wethersfield responded with a win in the triples and an opening singles win for Billy Knight-Woods.

Steve Sheldrake, Paul Bragg and Kevin Taylor were all victorious as Wethersfield had the singles won, but Ted Ullmer, Stewart Thorogood and Hyham all saw success to secure the overall match draw.

A win for Lynn Bell in the ladies, followed by a 2-1 pairs win and a draw in the triples had the overall advantage with the Retreat in their match against Cressing A.

Martin Compton's 2-0 singles win, which included a 13-dart leg, had Cressing back in the hunt and wins for Mick Cain and Rob Tinsley followed, but Tom Roberts, Peter Hinkson, Simon Twin and Dave Saunders gave the Retreat the singles and match points.

Braintree Football Club with a slender match lead going into the singles against visiting Eagle B after a 2-1 pairs win and draws in the ladies and triples.

Matt Baker and Mark Tilley won to extend the Football Club's lead, before Andy Smith and Kevin Byrne brought Eagle back, but with Alan Dewar and Lynn Kelly winning the next two, the Football Club had the singles and match won.

The Angel were hosts to Bocking Club in division two and after a draw in the ladies, saw themselves fall behind after losing the pairs and the triples.

Taylor Barnard extended Bocking's lead and they secured the match points, but the final two games went the Angel's way to give them victory in the singles.

The Eagle A were hosts to Wethersfield Raiders and after securing the ladies' points, went further ahead with a 2-1 win in the pairs and a win in the triples.

Phil Hume got the Raiders back into the match with a 2-1 win over Stuart Wicks in the opening singles but the next five games all went the Eagle's way as they had the match and singles points secured.

Cressing B drew their ladies match against the Welsh Princess and then went on to record a 3-0 win in the pairs and a win in the triples.

Things didn't get any better for the Welsh in the singles either, with Cressing winning the first four games to wrap up singles and overall match victories.
