TWO sets of quartets from Cressing A will go head to-head on finals night after the qualifying games for the Braintree Open Darts League Fours competition were played at Bocking Club.

The second of the league's winter knockout competitions was a best of 3 x 1001 legs and, with 18 teams taking part, it was a well-fought night of darts.

Plenty of 100 plus shots were scored from the outset and 180s came from Stuart Wicks, Steve O'Neil and Simon Twin.

Cressings A's team of Dan Dearing, Rob Tinsley, Stuart Chapman and Tony Bamsey played their way into a finals night appearance with a 2-0 semi-final win over the Retreats Simon Twin, Tom Roberts, Steve O'Neil and Dave Benfield.

Bamsey hit a 95 out shot in the second leg to secure Cressing's progress.

The second semi-final had Braintree Football Club's Matt Baker, Rick Marshall, Colin Dowsett and Lynn Kelly up against Cressing A's Shane Smith, Mick Cain, Paul Cain and Bryan Willis.

With a 2-0 win for the Cressing quartet they went through to set up a final showdown against their club-mates.
