THE BMX East Winter Regional series reached its mid-point at Braintree Bullets' track and the home club extended their lead in the overall club points standings.

There were 53 Bullets among the 161 entries with some fantastic individual performances.

The first class win for the Bullets came in the sevens as Charlie Long went unbeaten all day to claim maximum points.

Also in the final were Finley Heighes and Max Lawrence, who rode to fifth and sixth place respectively.

Continuing the class domination of the eights was Heath Thomas, who powered away from the pack off of the gate and led every lap in fine style.

Just off the podium was Olly Cates, who took fourth place with club-mate Noah Gill rounding out the field in eighth.

Heidi Gill matched Thomas’ feat in the girls' class as she took the win with Lily Heighes in third and Phoebe Ollett in fifth.

Class domination was the name of the game in the 14s as seven Bullets took to the gate in the final.

Adam Gilbert didn’t drop a lap all day and took the class win.

In his wake, the battle raged with four club-mates battling for the podium positions.

Cameron Parrish came through strongly on the last straight to take second on the line from Joe Little in third.

Ewan Thomson and Josh Cates went bar to bar for the whole lap with Thomson just getting ahead of Cates to go fourth and fifth respectively.

Joseph Harris battled hard but couldn’t find a gap in seventh and Roxy Hinton rounded out the field in eighth.

Next up was Lewis Little in the 16s.

Off the gate, Little was electric and led the final from start to finish, while Thomas Knight kept consistent to claim fourth with Harry Collins on his wheel in fifth.

Molly Nice battled among the boys with great effect in seventh.

The final class win for the Bullets came in the premier class at the end of the day and again there were seven Bullets representing the club.

Josh Butson had a first straight to die for and led the race from the gate.

Breathing down his neck were club-mates Taylor Andrews and Shane Redgewell, who duked it out for second and third on the last straight.

Charlie O’Grady had a strong lap as he came through to overtake Matt Goodwins to claim fourth while Sydney Allen chased them down in sixth and Dan Gilbert brought them home in eighth.

Also making the finals through the day were Thomas Richardson and Assheton Green in the ten-year-olds.

Eddie Cannons had a great day as he raced to second in the 12s with Freia Challis, Harley Pattle and Archie Andrews also in the main event.

Macey Hinton took second in the 13 to 15 girls and Russell Collins took fourth in the combined cruiser class.
