EAGLE B were able to take the triples against Cressing A, but were unable to take further joy as the visitors won the ladies, pairs and singles matches in their Braintree Open Darts League division one clash.

Wins in the opening three singles put Cressing in a strong position, before Kevin Byrne and Andy Smith put the Eagle back in contention in that competition, but Dicky Pryke and Dan Dearing finished the job for the visitors.

After drawing the ladies and losing the pairs 2-1, the Retreat came back with a win in the triples to give them a slight advantage in their match against Notley Sports.

Peter Hinksons and Wayne Goodwins extended the Retreat's advantage in the singles, before Graham Chinnery halted the hosts' progress with a 2-0 win, but Dave Saunders and Andy Camp secured singles and match points for the Retreat.

A draw in the ladies and a 2-1 defeat in the pairs had Braintree Football Club on the back foot against visiting Swiss Bell, however a win in the triples and victories for Mark Tilly and Matt Baker in the opening two singles put the hosts ahead.

The Swiss came back with wins for Russ Farmer, Chris Holden and Ash Chibwe in the next three games but Alan Dewar and Phil Holmes chalked up wins to give the Football Club singles and match honours.

In division two, the Angel got off to a good start at home against Wethersfield Raiders with Natasha Burgess and Madeline Gave winning the ladies.

However, that was the last win for the Angel, with Wethersfield winning the pairs 2-1, the triples and all seven singles games.

Cressing B opened with a win in the ladies against Bocking Club, but lost the pairs 2-1 before bouncing back with a win in the triples to give them the overall match advantage going into the singles.

Paul Fletcher and Harry Smith extended Cressing's match lead and it was wrapped up by wins for Paul Baker and Karen Sibley, but Dave Joyce, Matt Franklin and Graham Hardy did provide some cheer for Bocking.

A draw in the ladies followed by a 2 - 1 win in the pairs and a draw in the triples gave the Horse and Groom a slight match advantage over visiting Eagle A.

Honours were shared in the opening two singles, but with the Eagle claimed the remaining five games.

Andy Smith, Andy Camp and Stewart Thorogood all hit 180s and high out shots were recorded by Andi Thomas with a 158 and Kevin Byrne with a 123.
