THE Raiders team took Wethersfield bragging rights as they won the overall match points in their Braintree Open Darts League clash against the Club side.

The early advantage went to the Raiders as they won the pairs and triples, before wins for Phil Holme and Ernie Holden extended their match lead in the opening two singles.

Steve Sheldrake and Paul Bragg took the next two for the Club and although Andi Thomas' 2-0 win over Emma Totman gave the Raiders the overall match points, Kevin Taylor and Dave Suckling secured the singles win for the Club.

Notley Sports hosted Cressing B and although the pairs went to the home side, they lost the triples and saw Rob Turner extend the visitors' advantage in the opening singles.

Notley's middle order claimed the next four, which included 14 and 15-dart legs for Stewart Thorogood and, despite Paul Baker winning for Cressing, they wrapped up singles and match honours with Ted Ullmer taking the final game.

Cressing A stormed into the lead against Horse and Groom, winning the pairs 3-0, the triples and the opening singles.

Mark Cook got the Groom on the scoresheet with a 2-1 win over Mick Cain in the second but with Cressing winning the remaining games they had the singles and match won.

Welsh Princess found themselves chasing the match against Eagle B after losing the pairs and triples and with the opening three singles going the Eagle's way they had the match won.

Wins for the Welsh in the next two gave them hope of singles points, however, Eagle won the remaining two games.

The Eagle A opened with a 2-1 win in the pairs and a win in the triples against Bocking, before singles honours were shared up to the fifth but the Eagle claimed the final two games as they had the singles and match won.

Braintree Football Clubs took the pairs 2-1 against Swiss Bell, who hit back in the triples.

Ashley Chibwe extended the Swiss' lead and Barry Lynn and Bex Farmer also won, but the Football Club had Alan Dewar, Lynn Kelly and Matt Baker levelling things, before Russ Farmer wrapped up singles and match points for the Swiss in the decider.

John Abbott hit three 180s, while Billy Knight-Wood, Andi Thomas, Stewart Thorogood, Danny Lynn and Kevin Byrne all hit one apiece and in the high out shot competition, Stewart Thorogood hit a 106 and Kevin Taylor a 101.
