THE Tutton Timber saw Terry Fisher and Duncan Patmore topping the leaderboard at Braintree Golf Club with 73 points.
They finished two ahead of runners-up Colin Pace and John Gisby while Alistair Stalker and Angus Neilson were third with 70.
Robert Green was a runaway winner of the men’s Saturday Stableford with 42 points off a handicap of nine.
He finished five points clear of Tim Streamer (10), while there was a countback for third place on 36 with Anthony Little (5) gaining the verdict over Brian Blackwell (18).
|There was also a countback to decide the winner of the ladies' Saturday Stableford with Angela Frankland (31) edging out Toni Brockwell (8) after both signed for 31 points.
Braintree's ladies' Silver team recorded a 3-2 victory at Colne Valley, and they repeated that scoreline at home against Orsett.
Margaret Margetts won the ladies' Jubilee Trophy with 40 points off a handicap of 27.
She finished two points clear of Caroline Fields (19) and Valda Curtis (26), with Fields taking second spot on countback.
The highlight of the event was a hole-in-one by Cyd Rodford on the tenth hole.
Despite blustery conditions with intermittent rain, 44 seniors competed in a Texas Scramble, with John Berry (20), Bob Dowman (20), Robert Young (23) and Gareth Olney (6) winning with a net 60.5.
They finished comfortably clear of Andy Bullock (10), Tony Mayo (19), Richard Turner (20) and Neil Williams (20) with a net 62.4.
Michael Saffill (20), Roy Barnes (11), Mike Gale (24) and Mike Banthorpe (20) finished third with 63.9.
