HONOURS were split as Good Friday saw the annual Captain versus Secretary match at Colne Valley Golf Club.

The men's and ladies' sections played and it was even over the two, with the captain’s team taking victory in the men’s competition and the secretary’s for the ladies.

The biggest wins of the day were Alister Bailey and Colin Wheatland in the men’s match and Marian Gaunt and Dianne Jeggo in the ladies' with both pairs winning six-up.

There were nearest pin prizes for by Jean Adams, Malcolm Waite, Keith Hamman and Geoff Wyatt.

The club thanked everyone who supported the day, including Linden Lady, who donated a very large Easter Egg, which raised £375, and everyone else who donated prizes for the general raffle that raised another £205.

Meanwhile, Jan Edwards romped to a six-shot victory in the ladies’ medal.

Her nett 65 was more than enough to see Penny Lang into second with her nett 71 while Marian Gaunt was third with a nett 75.
