EAGLE A were able to convert an early advantage into a match victory against Bocking Club in the Braintree Open Darts League.

A 2-1 loss in the pairs followed by a draw in the triples had Bocking at a slight overall disadvantage going into the singles, but Colin Barnard's victory levelled the match.

Kelvin Byrne won to put the Eagle back in front and despite Jimmy Kiddle's 2-1 win levelling the scores again, Paul Little, Steve Carlile, Matt Last and Keven Byrne claimed the remaining four games as the Eagle had the match and singles won.

Cressing B entertained Wethersfield Club and found themselves on the back foot after losing the pairs 2-1, drawing the triples and losing the opening singles.

Harry Smiths 2-0 win gave Cressing a lifeline but with Steve Sheldrake, Billy Knight-Wood and Kevin Taylor winning the next three, Wethersfield had the singles and match points secured.

Wethersfield Raiders were at home against Cressing A and after losing the pairs 2-1 and drawing the triples were looking for results to go their way in the singles.

However, those results were not forthcoming, with Cressing winning all seven games.

Notley Sports travelled to the Retreat and after a 2 -1 defeat in the pairs they bounced back to win the triples.

Dave Saunders and Wayne Goodwins won to edged the Retreat in front in the singles before Graham Chinnery and Steve Thorogood levelled it for Notley, but they were to be the last for Notley with Vinnie Clark, Steve O'Neil and Simon Twin winning the remaining three games for the Retreat.

Swiss Bell started against Braintree Football Club with a 2-1 win in the pairs and with a draw in the triples, however, their lead was soon wiped out as the Football Club took the first six singles for those points and overall match honours.
