ANTHONY Little and Samuel Bollen enjoyed stableford triumphs at Braintree Golf Club in the two weekend competitions.

Little, off four handicap, edged to victory in the Saturday event with 38 points, finishing one ahead of two-handicap James Hedger.

There was a five-way countback for third spot on 36 points with Richard Moffat (13) getting the verdict over Mark Leckie (9) in fourth, while Paul Shrosbree (21) was fifth, Ivan Patching (13) sixth and Tony Craven (5) seventh.

There was another close finish on Sunday when Bollen (9) signed for 40 points, one better than runner-up Paul Willis (10) and Andrew Marsay (14) in third.

Two more players returned 37 points and after another countback Stephen Smith (4) was placed fourth ahead of Michael Latta (8).

The seniors’ Team Aggregate was won by Terry Barke, Andrew Styles and Brian Chase on 85 points, finishing three ahead of Peter Eveling, John Snow and Christopher High.

There was a countback for third on 80 points with Bob Race, Anthony Mayo and Michael Saffill edging ahead of Keith Lawless, John Still and Robert Young.

There was another countback to decide top spot in the ladies' nine-hole greensome with Marilyn Grubb and Susan Snell pipping Jennifer Day and Julie Race after both pairs returned 20 points.

Third place, on 19 points, went to Pauline Sundler and Janet White after a countback over Ann Anderson and Diana Reeve.
