CRESSING A continued to dominate the overall Braintree Open Darts League standings with a match win against Legends, but they were pegged back in the singles to drop points in that competition.

The two head the pairs table, but Cressing reinforced their position at the top of that competition with a 3-0 win and there was a draw in the triples, before Cressing increased their match lead with a 2-1 win for Andy Holland over Tony Tatum in the first singles.

Legends claimed the next three, though, and although Cressing wrapped up the match points with wins for Richard Prike and John Abbott, a 2-0 win for Stuart Wicks over Sam Hayden in the last game saw Legends take the singles.

Wethersfield Raiders went down 2-1 in the pairs against visiting Swiss Bell but a draw in the triples and an opening singles win for Phil Hume saw the hosts back in the match.

Wins for Rob Watson and Ann Farmer put the Swiss ahead, but Andi Tomas' 2-0 win left the singles and match outcome resting on the final game where a 2-0 win for Russ Farmer gave honours to the Bell.

Bocking Club's 3-0 triples win, a draw in the triples and an opening singles win for Colin Barnard gave the them the advantage against Braintree Football Club.

However, the Football Club took the remaining six singles to secure the points in those points and the overall match.

The two Eagle teams were facing each other, with the A team winning the pairs 2-1 and a draw in the triples as the overall match was drawn.

The first three singles saw the A edge ahead, but Richard Chandler and Andy Smith took the next two for the B team and they completed victory in that competition with a win for Alex Chandler in the decider.

The Retreat travelled to Cressing B team and won the pairs 3-0, drew the triples and won the singles, despite Harry Smith, Martin Compton and Paul Baker picking up wins for the hosts.

Horse and Groom lost 2-1 in the pairs against visiting Notley Sports, but drew the triples, before Graham Chinnery increased the visitors' lead with a 2-1 singles win but with Mark Worster and Tash Whitfield put the Groom back in the match.

Jon Islip took Notley further ahead with a 2-1 win, but Dan Newlove, Mark Cook and Jackie Ryder all won to give the Groom singles and match honours.

Tony Holland and Brendan Hand both hit 180s and high out shots were recorded by Bex Farmer 98, S Foulds 103 and John Abbott 152.
