CONTRASTING conditions were reflected in the scoring of the men’s stableford on both days over the weekend at Braintree Golf Club.
Russell Hedges, off 13, won the sparsely attended Saturday event with 39 points, five better than runner-up Rob Brand (17), with James Bussell (5) third with 29.
However, better weather on Sunday saw Paul Grimsey return 40 points off a handicap of nine, finishing one ahead of Angus Neilson (9) and Kyron Moon (16).
After a countback Neilson took the runner-up spot.
The seniors' Team Stableford saw Terry Barke (9), Paul Vale (14) and Nigel Davies (23) finish on top after a countback. The trio finished ahead of David Yates (12), John Bell (23) and Peter Hepworth (18) after both finished with 79 points.
John Snow (14), Michael Collard (22) and Gary Carlile (13) were third on 75.
