A DRAW in the triples was all that Eagle B were able to take from their encounter with Braintree Open Darts League leaders Cressing A.

Cressing A took the pairs 3-0 win , before the draw in the triples and opening singles wins for Sam Hayden and Mick Cain.

Alex Chandler's 2-1 win over Shane Smith halted Cressing's progress but with Tony Bamsey, Peter Hayden and John Abbott winning the next three, the leaders had the match and singles won.

The Retreat lost their pairs 2-1 and the triples against visiting Bocking Club, who then took command of the singles with a couple of wins.

However the Retreat had other ideas and with 2-0 wins for Vinnie Clark, Steve O'Neil, Tom Roberts and Dave Saunders, they had the singles won as the match ended in a draw.

Cressing B looked to be heading for the match win against Wethersfield Raiders after a 2-1 win in the pairs and a draw in the triples.

Phil Humes' 2-0 win over Linda Goodwin in the second gave the Raiders a route back but Cressing took the next four games for singles and overall match honours.

Eagle A took the pairs 3-0 and drew the triples at Wethersfield Club, who took hope from Kevin Taylor's win in the opening singles.

However, wins for Paul Little, Kelvin Byrne, Steve Carlile and Barry Old in the last four games gave Eagle the singles and match points.

Horse and Groom travelled to the Swiss Bell and were soon chasing the match after the hosts chalked up a 3-0 win in the pairs and a win in the triples.

Rob Watson and Jackie Brighton won in the opening two singles to give the Swiss the match points and they went on to wrap up the singles victory as well.

Notley Sports found themselves chasing their match against Legends after losing the pairs and triples, but wins for Dave Islip and Ted Ullmer in the opening two singles gave Notley a route back.

Ernie Holden's win put Legends back in front, before Notley took the next three games for the singles win, but a victory for Stuart Wicks in the final game saw the match finish in a draw.

Stewart Thorogood hit two 180s and Chris Holden, Tony Bamsey, Andy Smith hit one each while high out shots were recorded by Chris Holden 103, Jackie Ryder 110 and Deb Webb 90.
