SEVEN hockey players from Felsted School have been selected for the England Hockey High Performance Centre training squads in preparation for regional matches and fixtures.
The Felsted players chosen are Beth Irvine and Affrica Hamilton (year nine), Henry Dean (year ten), Ollie Stonham, Xavier Cook and Jonny Hoile (year 11) and Alex Went (year 12).
Went, who plays for the Felsted first team, has also been accepted into the England Hockey High Performance Assessment Camp, a further stage up in the England player pathway, after passing each of her regional assessments.
Hockey at Felsted remains consistently strong, with the under-11, under-13, under-14 and under-16 girls’ teams crowned county champions this year.
Both the under-15 and under-19 girls’ teams have also reached the national quarter-finals of the SMILE Independent Schools Hockey Tournament to be played in the New Year.
