DESPITE some inclement weather there was some superb scoring when Braintree Golf Club celebrated its 125th anniversary with a Texas Scramble at Stisted.
The winning team of Richard Warren, Steve Fenwick, Malcolm Purrell and Mike Cooper returned a medal score of 55.9.
They finished well ahead of two teams on 58.0 and after a countback Gary Neill, Jon Goodwin, David Hawes and Paul Willis were named in second spot.
Third place went to Peter Yarwood, Rob Brand, Geoff Reeves and Edward Lindo.
