SWISS Bell eventually stretched away to secure Knockout Cup progress in the Braintree Open Darts League with a win against Legends.

Honours were shared in the opening exchanges but with Tony Holland's 3-0 win in the fifth game and a 2-1 win for Russ Farmer in the sixth, the Swiss booked their place in the next round.

Cressing A soon built up a lead against Wethersfield Raiders and they also ensured progress with wins for Mick Cain, Bryan Willis, Andy Holland and John Abbott.

Braintree Football Club won the opening three games to take the advantage against Wethersfield Club and while Wethersfield's Billy Knight reduced the lead, Alan Dewar took the next for the Football Club.

Wethersfield's Paul Bragg claimed the sixth game as the match outcome hinged on the result of the final game, where Lynn Kelly beat Dave Suckling to send the Football Club through.

In the Knockout Plate, Bocking held a 7-2 lead after the first three games against visiting Notley Sports.

Ted Ulmer's 2-1 win reduced the deficit but with Dave Joyce recording a 2-1 win and victory for Phil Watkins, Bocking were through to the next round.

The Eagles B and Cressing B shared honours in their first four games, however, 2-1 wins for the Eagle's Dave Wren and Andy Smith saw them edge ahead and requiring just one leg from the final game.

However, a 3-0 win for Paul Fletcher edged Cressing into the next round.

Tony Boreham and John Abbott hit 180s and high out shots were recorded by Mick Cain with a 142 and Richard Pryke with a 107.
