BOCKING Poachers stayed top of the Essex Invitation Petanque League after a 2-1 win at Wethersfield Jetts.
The away side took the triples and doubles but Terry Whiting secured the first point of the season for Jetts with a 13-5 singles win over Pat Brown.
Billericay Meadows took maximum points at Wethersfield Hopps, while Bocking Boules won 2-1 as they hosted Thorley.
Trevor Blows, Darren Hutchins and Callum Finn took the triples 13-3 for Boules and Blows sealed a 2-1 win with a comfortable 13-3 singles win.
Bocking Spinners beat summer league winners Three Elms 2-1.
Richard Tite, Christina Knights and Malcolm Smith trailed all the way in the triples until they took the last end for a 13-12 win and Knights and Tite sealed the match win with the 13-7 pairs success.
