RAYNE Swan Petanque Club held their annual doubles competition with 20 teams battling for honours.

Surprise performance was Fadi Brahmi and Geraldine Garret, who were in the Main competition after finishing top of their group and went on to reach the semi-finals, before finally losing to eventual winners Keith Flack and Sean Prendergast.

Flack and Prendergast were in top form and defeated Jack Blows and Ross Jones 13-0 in the final.

Flack's accurate pointing was backed up by Prendergast's impressive shooting, which gave their opposition no opportunities to get into the game.

The Plate final was won by Viv and Colin Sams, with the husband and wife team from the Swan untroubled on their way to a 13-3 victory.

In the Consolage final, the Weathersfield pair of Geoff Cocks and Eric Smith played very well to lead 11-8 against Karl Scott and Carole Harding.

But the latter pair came back well to snatch the game 13-11.
