THE final matches of the Braintree Open Darts League's summer season saw Cressing winning their last match with victories in the pairs, triples and singles to become champions in all three competitions as well as overall league winners

The Retreat were runners-up in the singles, triples and league, while Eagle A where runners-up in the pairs.

The ladies' league saw Braintree Football Club crowned champions, with the Swiss Bell in runners-up spot.

Meanwhile, the league's summer Knockout finals and presentation night was held at Cressing.

The evening started with a blind pairs competition that saw Sam Hayden and Kevin Taylor beat Simon Twin and Tony Holland 2-1 in the final, with Taylor securing the victory with a 152 out shot.

The ladies' pairs final had the Football Clubs Lynn Kelly and Nicky Bewick winning 3-0 against Cressing's Tracie Hayden and Jade Hampton while the men's pairs title was taken by Cressing's Tony Bamsey and Tim Franklin with a 3-0 win against Horse and Groom's Tash Whitfield and Mark Worster.

Swiss Bell's Ann Farmer was crowned ladies' singles champion after a 4-1 win against Bocking's Maz Tucker and the men's singles was contested by the Retreat's Simon Twin and Wethersfield Club's Kevin Taylor.

The opening two legs were shared before Taylor won the third and fourth and although Twin hit back in the fifth, the Wethersfield man hit double ten to check out in the sixth and take the men's singles crown with a 4-2 victory.
