BRAINTREE Bullets BMX Club topped off a successful season by finishing third overall in the British Championships.

Their position in the standings was well supported by some great individual performances from their riders at the final rounds in Derby, including the crowning of three British champions.

Freia Challis was the only female Bullet to make the finals and she went unbeaten through the weekend to add the British champion's title to her National champion's title in the seven to eight girls' class.

The second Bullet to claim his title was Seb Pantlin in the 12 years.

Like Challis, Pantlin had already sown up the National title and is now a double British and National champion.

This will set him up in good stead for the 2017 season when he will race up an age group to seek a greater challenge.

Pantlin also finished second in the nine to 12 cruiser class.

Oli Cutmore continued his domination of the 17 to 29 cruiser class by adding the British title to his National crown and World number two ranking.

He didn’t drop a lap all weekend on his way to the top step of the podium.

The youngest Bullet to make the final was Heath Thomas in the six and unders.

This has been his first year of regional racing and his seventh-place result at the British Championships shows his potential for the future.

In the 11s, Adam Gilbert went into the final with an unbeaten run and was among the favourites for the podium.

He rode a great race and finished second to add to his third place in the nine to 12 cruiser class.

Matt Goodwins took to the big wheels in the 13 to 14 cruiser class and secured second place in the final.

Up into the 15s, Christian White had consistent finishes through the qualifiers and rode to seventh place in the final.

The 17 to 24s featured Josh Butson, but he didn’t get the start he wanted and was mid-pack and took sixth place.

The Bullets Winter club series commences in October.
