AN incredible game of cricket ended with nothing able to split Dunmow and Easton in Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship division two.
Dunmow bowled first and made early inroads to have the hosts 89 for six in the 24th over, with Stephen Hamlin, Josh Rix, Barry Sewell and James Reyburn sharing the wickets.
However, as in the home tie, Easton recovered well to post a respectable total of 191 for nine.
Reyburn kept plugging away to finish with figures of five for 24, with Sewell claiming two for 72, Rix one for 28 and Hamlin one for 63.
In reply, Dunmow got off to a poor start, with Nav Ali departing in the second over for one and wickets falling regularly so that in the 13th over, the score was 50 for four.
This brought Reyburn and Paul Reid together and they built what was so nearly a match-winning partnership of 101.
Reid made 39 and Reyburn and unbeaten 66.
Momentum was maintained by Mark Rosewell with a breezy 18 to leave six needed from the final over to secure victory. The bowling duties fell to Tom Bosher and he conceded only five that left the scores level and the match tied.
Dunmow travel to struggling Exning on saturday, looking to consolidate their mid-table position.
Meanwhile, Dunmow seconds stayed top of division nine south without a ball being bowled as their opponents, Boxted, conceded their match.
