CRESSING cruised to overall victory in their Braintree Open Darts League match against the Retreat.

A 2-1 win in the pairs was followed with a win in the triples and victories in six of the seven singles games.

The Eagle A opened their home game against Bocking Club with a 2-1 pairs win, but the visitors' triples win saw them edge ahead.

Honours being shared in the opening four singles kept Bocking just in front but with Paul Little, Terry Corder and Barry Old all victorious in the final three games the Eagle had the singles and match points secured.

Wagon and Horses took the pairs at Wethersfield Raiders, who hit back to win the triples and three of the four opening singles, however, wins for the Wagon's Mark Hammond and Paul Baker meant the match result rested on the final game.

Phil Hume's 2-0 win for the Raiders saw them take the singles and draw the overall match.

Horse and Groom saw visitors Eagle B win the pairs 2-1 before drawing the triples and with two of the first three singles going the home side's way, the overall match score was level.

However that was to be the end of the Horse and Grooms comeback as wins for Andy Smith, Richard Chandler, Alex Chandler and Tony Cook earned the Eagle the singles and match victories

Notley Sports won the pairs and triples as they hosted Braintree Football Club, before Dave Islip increased the lead with a win in the first singles game.

Graham Chinnery's singles win increased the pressure and even though wins for Alan Dewar and Lynn Kelly gave the Football Club hope, Notley's Nev Walker and Ted Ullmer took the next two games to wrap up the points.

Swiss Bell took the pairs against Wethersfield Club, who then claimed the triples and opened a match lead with singles wins for Dave Suckling and Tony Boreham.

Victories for Jackie Brighton, Bex Farmer and Russ Farmer saw the Bell hit back, before Paul Bragg took a win for Wethersfield and Jan Pearce for Swiss Bell as the overall match ended in a draw.

Brian Willis, Sam Hayden and Andy Smith all hit 180s, while high out shots were recorded by Steve Sheldrake 111, Steve O'Neil 107 and Graham Mills 92.
