However, the Witham duo lost to Tiptree in the second round.

In the County Triples, Charlie Sage, Wallis and Foyster had a win over Bocking and will play Silver End in the next round.

In the Ladies' County Pairs, Joan Barrett and Wendy Hutton lost to Burnham Hillside.

An open day was held at Witham with many people showing interest.

Peggy Horsley, a long-serving member of Witham Bowls Club, recently passed away and a service was held at St Nicolas Church recently, which was attended by many of her colleagues from the club and from the County.

It was a memorable service and Peggy will be greatly missed.
