BRAINTREE Lawn Tennis Club’s under-18 boys' A team played with determination to secure a convincing win at Earls Colne.
Jack Parker, Sam Crow, William Parker and Nathan Miller all contributed to ensure the victory for Braintree, which was their second win from two so far this season.
There were some close-fought matches, with Crow and Miller battling hard to win their singles 10-7 and 10-5 respectively in deciding tie breaks.
Braintree's ten-and-under Green team of Adam Gilchrist, Leo Murray, Jude Gray and Matthew Stephenson faced Thaxted at home.
The teams were very evenly matched and there were some amazing rallies, with many games going to deuce, but Thaxted won through despite the great effort from the Braintree team.
