BRAINTREE'S Kevin Cable was pleased to come away with points from Oulton Park in Cheshire after the first round of the 2016 British Sidecar Championships.
Cable, together with passenger Harry Payne from Colchester was looking forward to continuing their partnership from last season at this highest level.
The Cable Racing pair were aboard their 1000cc Yamaha-powered machine and qualifying saw them start the race in 17th among a field consisting of World, British and Isle of Mann TT champions.
After a morning of torrential rain the track had dried for the race and the pair settled into a good pace, finishing 11th, which gave them 11th place in the championship.
Cable said “I’m happy that we finished and scored points.
"We had a few problems with the new fairing and the seating positions.
"I’m really looking forward to Brands Hatch (in the next round) now."
