Jesse Trayler is setting his sights on the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship title after joining the Northern Escalators Installations Motorsport team for the 2016 season.

The rider, who is from Great Dunmow will be part of the team’s two-man line-up, riding the new Kawasaki ZX-10R, and will be hoping to better last season’s seventh in the overall championship standings.

Trayler said: “I am very happy with this opportunity with NEI Motorsport.

“I can now fully concentrate on my riding, build on my momentum and results that I achieved last season.

“With some good people behind me including Nick Morgan of MSS Performance as my crew chief, my sole focus now is to go out there and win the National Superstock 1000 Championship on board the new 2016 Kawasaki ZX10R.”

The team had a strong pace and were setting strong lap times at pre-season testing at Cartagena in Spain in March.

The settings run in Spain did not equate to any British track and cold temperatures, but Trayler said he had learned how to look after his tyres more effectively, which will help in the UK, and how the bike handles when pushed to the limit. The first round of the championship will be on the Silverstone GP circuit on April 10.
