Brightlingsea Regent blew Witham Town away with a second half goal glut.

Regent secured the bragging rights in their Ryman League division north derby with a 4-0 win at North Road on Tuesday night.

The home side made a bright start to the second half after neither side could break the deadlock in the first 45 minutes.

Phil Kelly, with a cool finish at the far post, gave the home side the lead on 46 minutes.

Russell Malton then made it 2-0 on 57 minutes.

A good cross from Shamido Pedulu was spilt by keeper Alli Aksoy and Jake Clowlsey pounced to add a third goal three minutes later.

And the goals didn’t stop there as Regent’s Jake Turner added a fourth on 70 minutes with a well-taken free-kick.

Maldon and Tiptree fought back to earn a share of the spoils against visiting AFC Hornchurch.

After a goal-less first half Maldon had a chance to take the lead when they were awarded a penalty.

Joe Francis stepped up to take the spot-kick on 51 minutes but Hornchurch keeper Callum Chafer made a great save to keep the scored level.

Chafer was called on to make a number of good saves as Maldon went in search of the opener.

But it was the visitors that took the lead when Alex Bentley bent the ball into the net on 74 minutes.

Maldon went close to pulling a goal back but hit the bar on 80 minutes.

But five minutes later the Jammers equalised when Nnamdi Nwachuku wasn’t closed down and fired a shot into the bottom corner of the goal from 20 yards.

Heybridge Swifts earned a valuable win against the side below them in the table in their battle to move away from the relegation zone.

Swifts took an early lead when Tyrone Scarlett made it 1-0 on six minutes.

Wroxham were reduced to ten men on 82 minutes when Jackson Ramm was sent off for a picking up a second yellow card.

And Swifts held on to secure the three points.
