Braintree Town feels like a good fit for Jeremy Walker.
Not only has his move from Concord Rangers seen Walker link up again with former boss Danny Cowley and assistant manager Nicky Cowley, but the Australian right-back said there is a familiar feel to the surroundings for him.
The former Australia Under-21 international, who had a professional spell at Melbourne Heart (now Melbourne City) before coming to England, is orginally from Tasmania and said Braintree reminded him of his home town of Ulverstone.
“It’s a good move for me,” said Walker, who made 28 appearances for Concord last year. The town reminds me a lot of where I’m from back home – Ulverstone in Tasmania.
“It’s a similar size and population, which is nice.
“It’s also good to link up again with Danny and Nicky because they’ve been good for me.
“I had a trial with Millwall and spent about a month with them, but I moved on to Concord with them.
“That was about six or seven games into last season so I was able to start playing straight away and get a good season there.”
