Danny Cowley is pleased with the early work that his Braintree Town players have been doing in their pre-season preparations.

The Iron’s players have completed their first week of summer work under the guidance of new manager Cowley and he is happy with the attitude that he has seen so far.

Cowley said it is an important spell in building relationships between himself and the players as they get used to new ideas that come with a new management set-up as well as establishing the fitness they will need to start the season in August.

He said: “This period is about building relationships between us all as well as fitness work.

“Those relationships come over time, but we have had good early communications and it’s been positive."
