In the Champions of Champions, it fell to Donna Law to carry the individual honours for the Braintree Bowling Club in this major National Championship.
It sees the best players from clubs throughout the whole country playing one another to proceed to the final.
In Laws’ case, she was drawn at home in the Essex C Area where she played Christine Kennedy from Brightlingsea in the preliminary round and took the game by five clear shots.
The men’s Essex County Fours competition saw the Braintree quartet of Jack Mumford, Brian Taplin, Martin Law and Malcolm Stark take on a very strong Tiptree foursome which ended in a 19-17 Braintree victory.
