Black Notley’s Sue Clarke had the perfect preparation for her British team debut this weekend as she was victorious in her age category at the Anglian Water Duathlon at Grafton Water in Cambridgeshire.

The event saw some of the top age-group talent in the country battle it out around a five-kilometre run, followed by a 20km bike course and then another 5km run.

Clarke had a first run of 23 minutes 31 seconds, a bike ride of 41m 57s and a final 25m 2s run that, with transitions, gave her an overall time of one hour 32m 27s for 30th overall and top place in the 60 to 64 age category It was good preparation for Clarke as she gets ready for her Team GB debut this weekend at the 2015 European Duathlon Championships in Alcobendas in Spain.

She said: “I’m really looking forward to representing GB next weekend, and winning the race on Sunday was an added bonus.”
