Braintree Bullets BMX Club’s Ollie Rowe extended his lead at the top of the 14-years national standings in the British BMX Series after the second round was held at a windy Cyclopark circuit in Kent.

Having held top spot after the first round in Manchester, Rowe moved further clear with second and first places in his two races in Kent, while club-mate Charlie O’Grady was second behind Rowe on day two.

The youngest class saw Braintree’s Freia Challis secure a podium finish in the seven to eight girls, while the ten-year boys had Adam Gilbert also in the top three on both days.

In the 11-years, Seb Pantlin rode with supreme confidence and took a second on day one, before claiming his first-ever national win on day two.

Shane Redgewell was in the action in the 16s and secured a top-two finish.

The hugely competitive 17 to 24 class had 16-year-old Josh Butson swooping underneath a bunched field to steal third place on day two.

The cruiser classes also saw the Bullets in the thick of the action, with Redgewell continuing his winning ways in the 15 to 16 class as he went unbeaten all weekend.

Oli Cutmore rode with his usual finesse in the 17 to 29 class and his smooth style took him to his first win of the year on day one and a second place on day two.

The equivalent girls’ class saw Lana Redgewell up on the podium both days with a second and third, while Kelsey Dixon took a strong second on day two.

Bullets will travel to Cumbernauld in Scotland for rounds five and six of the Series next month.
