Braintree Rugby Club held its 18th annual Festival of Rugby for children aged six to 11 with teams from 13 different clubs in attendance.
And it was a successful day for the hosts as they carried off the under-sevens B, under-eights and under-nines cups and were runners-up in the under-sevens, under-tens and under-11s cups. It meant five out of six age groups saw Braintree either winning or coming runners-up in their categories, however, Old Albanians just pipped them to the post for the Overall Cup.
RESULTS: Under-sevens B Festival: Cup - Braintree C; Runners-up - Old Albanians B; Plate - Thurrock B.
Under-sevens: Cup - Old Albanians A; Runners-up - Braintree A; Plate – Upminster.
Under-eights: Cup - Braintree A; Runners-up - Thurrock B; Plate - Old Albanians B.
Under-nines: Cup - Braintree; Runners-up - Woodford B; Plate – Woodbridge.
Under-tens: Cup - Old Albanians; Runners-up - Braintree A; Plate - Stanford-le-Hope.
Under-11s: Cup - Old Albanians; Runners-up - Braintree A; Plate – Maldon.
Under-12s: Cup - Old Albanians; Runners-up - Thurrock; Plate - Woodbridge.
